  • However, it’s not the electricity demand from AI that’s contributing to Microsoft’s rising emissions, but rather the infrastructure growth required to meet demand for AI products.
  • The company has agreements in place to buy renewable-energy credits to offset its electricity needs, but the construction of new data centers requires materials that can be carbon-intensive.
